Spotify’s “Wrapped” 2024 Data for SMiles’ Anomaly-Radio Account

Spotify’s “Wrapped” Report for my personal “AnomalyRadio*” account was pushed to my phone earlier this week. Below you can see some screenshots from that report.

[* I’ve been streaming AnomalyRadio.com – my hobby webradio station – “since last century” or about 25 years. There you can hear a variety of pre-recorded paranormal and parapolitical shows with some occasional live content.]

A caveat regarding the podcast rankings: I listen to podcasts a variety of ways and on several different pocatcher platforms ranging from YouTube to Spotify to Patreon to directly through the official websites of the podcasters when available. So Spotify’s stats are still accurate to a point but not necessarily the most accurate given my caveat. But the bottomline is that I do recommend all of these podcasts!

My Top Podcasts

  1. Patterns Tell Stories – UFOs & High Strangeness by Klaus and Garrett
  2. The Getting Spooked Podcast by Tanner F. Boyle
  3. The Micah Hanks Program
  4. QAA Podcast
  5. Hi, Strangeness by Steve Berg

Regarding my Top Artists listened to … these definitely seemed to be played a lot by Spotify and Minutemen undoubtedly have the advantage of having extremely short songs (sometimes less than a minute long!) and I don’t really think I heard more Beastie Boys than Living Colour … especially since there are only like 2 Beastie Boys albums I can really stand listening to.

My Top Artist(s)

  1. Primus
  2. Spoon
  3. Minutemen
  4. Beastie Boys
  5. Living Colour

I was pleased to see the video message from singer / songwriter Brit Daniels towards the end of the “Wrapped” report. I really love his music and have been a huge fan since first meeting him while we both worked at OSI (Origin Systems Inc.), the computer game company here in Austin. I was their “Software Librarian” and he was working in the audio department. Somewhere I have the demo copy he gave me of his first Spoon album, Telephono, released later – April 23, 1996 – on Matador records. He had recorded a copy of the demo over a commercial copy of a Red Hot Chili Peppers album. LOL!

Message from Brit Daniels of Spoon

This is the most bizare list from the “Wrapped” report as I don’t even recognize any of these songs aside from the first one by Modest Mouse.
