Subject: Recent Updates to Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) of Hexafluorosilicic Acid, Source of fluoride forAustin’s fluoridation -Fluoride warning on City of Austin Water Bills
From: Free Austin and Texans for Accountable Government (TAG)
Recently, onMay 27, 2011, Mosaic Crop Nuturition, the chemical supplier of hexafluorosilicic acid (Austin’s source of fluoride for water fluoridation) made an update to the Hazard Identification Section of the Material Safety Data Sheet. See the highlighted section of the MSDS Attachment.
The MSDS updates include the health warning:
“Prolonged or repeated overexposure to fluoride compounds may cause fluorosis. Fluorosis is characterized by skeletal changes, consisting of osteosclerosis (hardening or abnormal density of bone) and osteomalacia (softening of bones) and by mottled discoloration of the enamel of teeth (if exposure occurs during enamel formation). Symptoms may include bone and joint pain and limited range of motion. Conditions aggravated by exposure may include skin and respiratory (asthma-like) disorders.”
Given the recent health warning issued to customers of this chemical, Fluoride Free Austin and Texans for Accountable Government, formally demand that the Austin City Council place a fluoride warning (similar to and consistent with the Hazard Section of Mosaic’s MSDS sheet) informing the City of Austin’s end users by documenting it on their municipal water bills. The warning language we are demanding and the relevant references are noted below:
Fluoride Warning:
“In January of 2011 the CDC lowered the maximum level of fluoride allowed in tap water from 1.2 ppm to 0.7 ppm.1 Austin currently fluoridates at 0.7 ppm.2 Prolonged or repeated overexposure to fluoride compounds may cause fluorosis.3 Fluorosis is characterized by skeletal changes, consisting of osteosclerosis and osteomalacia and by mottled discoloration of the enamel of teeth if exposure occurs during enamel formation of children and infants.3
If you are concerned about fluorosis in infants in children, you can minimize exposure to fluoride by using non-fluoridated water, for children and for reconstitution of infant formula.2”

LULAC: Civil Rights Violation Regarding Forced Medication
BREAKING NEWS : The Resolution was restored to the LULAC website. Luis Vera, LULAC General Counsel, ATTY in San Antonio, said all LULAC rules were followed.
The LULAC Civil Rights Resolution OPPOSING FLuoridation had been removed at the request of the LULAC National Executive Director.
Clearly, Fluoridation is a public policy gone bad. The chemical used is Hydrofluosilicic Acid, the toxic waste byproduct of the phosphate fertilizer industry. It has contaminants, lead, cadmium, barium, and RADIUM linked to Osteosarcoma ! Why are we adding a drug to water which causes harm to infants, the elderly, and people with impaired immune systems. Infants under 6 months are susceptible to Dental Fluorosis if exposed to Fluoride in the water ! This is a Civil Rights Issue.
Mothers have never been warned and many cannot afford bottled water or expensive systems to remove Fluoride. Ask LULAC to restore the Resolution to the website today.
