Happy birthday, padre! You would have been 70 years old today. I miss you so much…
There have been so many times since you passed in September 2021 when I have thought to myself, “I wish I could ask dad about this,” and “I wonder what dad would have thought about that,” or, “I would love to have talked with you about that.”
In the gallery below you can see a few photos of dad when he was most happy (besides whenever he was with Penny!) … feeding the deer, wearing his green X-Box-One cap while drinking coffee outside on a cold morning while wearing his aviator’s jacket, and helping out as a volunteer firefighter with the Medina Lake VFD. Oh, and wearing a vintage aviator’s leather cap with built-in headset mic – though he isn’t smiling in that picture for some reason. He loved aviation, law enforcement / firefighting, and sweet animals like deer, dogs, cats, chickens and more!
I was so happy for him and proud of him when he got involved with the local Medina Lake Volunteer Fire Department. It made him so happy to be a part of that… even as there were days where it caused him great sorrow – like watching someone’s home and life ravaged by fire despite all the efforts of Medina Lake VFD.
Today is no easy day without you dad… I love you and miss you.
